TEEN THERAPY • AGES 12–18 • CALIFORNIA
Teen therapy for anxiety, self-doubt, identity, and relationships.
In-person teen therapy in Sawtelle, West Los Angeles, as well as virtual therapy for teens throughout California.
When they say “I’m fine,” but you’re not sure.
Your teen may be spending more time alone, worrying about how people see them, struggling with friendships, avoiding things they might fail at, or feeling like they don’t belong anywhere.
Some teens have been through really hard things. Some just feel off and don’t know why. Either way, they do not need a perfect explanation before therapy can begin.
What therapy can help your teen learn
Notice when anxiety, self-criticism, or fear of rejection is driving a decision
Understand patterns that keep repeating in emotions and relationships
Put words to feelings and communicate needs more clearly
Handle mistakes, conflict, and uncertainty without immediately avoiding or shutting down
Feel more confident in themselves and more secure in their relationships
A few common areas we might focus on
-

Anxiety & Self Doubt
Overthinking, perfectionism, fear of judgment, social anxiety, avoidance, and feeling like you’re never doing enough.
-

Identity & Belonging
Feeling different, questioning who you are, LGBTQ+ experiences, family or religious expectations, and trying to find where you fit.
-

Relationships & Trust
Friendship stress, fear of rejection, difficulty communicating feelings, and past experiences that make closeness complicated.
-

Family Support
Parent or family sessions may be useful for communication, understanding needs, rebuilding connection, and shifting patterns at home.
The goal is to help your teen understand themselves and what keeps getting in the way.
It’s about helping them make sense of their emotions, relationships, friendships, family, and who they’re becoming. I use a relationship-focused, psychodynamic and process-oriented approach, with CBT and practical tools when helpful.
