IDENTITY & BELONGING
Teen therapy for identity, belonging, and the pressure to fit in.
For teens who feel different or misunderstood, are questioning parts of their identity, or feel caught between who they are and what other people expect.
Adolescence already asks big questions about identity. Those questions can feel even heavier when your teen is navigating judgment, family expectations, faith, LGBTQ+ identity, adoption or foster-care experiences, or a history that makes belonging complicated.
Fitting in can get complicated when being yourself feels risky.
Your teen may care intensely about fitting in while also feeling like being fully themselves could cost them closeness or approval. They may change how they act depending on who they are with, keep parts of themselves hidden, or struggle to know which version feels real.
Therapy gives them room to figure out what feels true to them.
Without pressure to choose a label, defend an identity, or make a decision before they are ready, we can explore what feels true, what feels inherited, and what kind of relationships allow them to feel more like themselves.
LGBTQ+ identity & affirmation • Faith transitions • Religious trauma • Adoption • Foster care • Family expectations • Self-expression
