LGBTQ+ TEEN THERAPY
Space to question, explore, celebrate, and be yourself.
Affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ teens navigating sexuality, gender, relationships, family, and the many ways identity can grow and change.
LGBTQ+ teens may be navigating judgment, family or religious expectations, friendship or dating stress, coming out decisions, or uncertainty about where it feels safe to be fully themselves.
Sexuality and gender exploration can be exciting, confusing, freeing, complicated—or all of those things at once.
Having space to explore these parts of themselves without judgment can make a real difference.
Therapy can be a warm, supportive place to talk openly about sexuality, gender, attraction, relationships, self-expression, and the expectations your teen may have absorbed from family, religion, peers, or culture.
We can also pay attention to what authenticity looks like outside of therapy.
Your teen may begin noticing where they feel most comfortable being themselves, where they hold back or change parts of who they are, and what kinds of people and relationships make it easier to feel safe, understood, and genuine.
Pride belongs in therapy too.
Exploring identity isn’t only about working through fear, rejection, or judgment.
There can also be relief, excitement, connection, pride, creativity, community, and acceptance. We can make room not only for what has been difficult, but also for the parts of your teen’s identity that bring them joy, curiosity, and a stronger sense of who they are.
Parents may have questions of their own.
Especially when sexuality or gender is new territory for a family, parents may be trying to understand what their teen needs while also working through their own questions, fears, or uncertainty.
When helpful, parent or family sessions can create space to ask questions, work through misunderstandings, improve communication, and find ways to help your teen feel supported at home.
The goal isn’t for anyone to have the perfect words. It’s to make more room for understanding, connection, and authenticity.
